Eggoc BV with offices at Evert van de Beekstraat 104, Schiphol (1118 CN), hereinafter referred to as “Handl.io”, cares deeply about the responsible handling of the personal data of its users. Handl.io therefore processes your personal data carefully and lawfully with regards to the “Personal Data Protection Act”.
This Privacy Statement informs you about the way in which Handl.io processes your personal data and how you can change or oppose against the intended use of these data.
This Privacy Statement only applies to the services offered by Handl.io on www.handl.io (hereinafter ‘the website’) and on it’s mobile application (hereinafter ‘the app’).
Explanation of personal details and specific goals for their processing
- Personal experience – consent
Handl.io uses your data to offer you an optimal personal experience. Handl.io therefore uses data from your email inbox, your IP address or data from your mobile device or cookies when you visit the website.
Our app will specifically ask for your consent when you decide to activate the whole scope of features it offers.
This privacy statement will be reachable for your review in several locations:
- On the website at handl.io/privacy
- Through a link on our home page
- Through a linkon the opening screen of the app
- Through a link in the menu of the app
Handl.io collects and processes some of your personal data for different purposes. We use personal data received from you (in the app when connecting with your Google account), but also data we collect ourselves.
The data we collect ourselves are for example, data about your visit to our website or the use of the app. This allows us to improve our website and app to likes of our users.
Below you will find which specific goalswe intend to accomplish with the data received from you.
- Emails and Orders
While using the app and connecting to your Google account, part of your emails will be requested, stored and analysed. The app specifically looks for only those messages related to your online purchases.
As the app will offer you a manageable feed of your online purchases it will extract specific details such as: the shop name, the order number, the track and trace number and the linked updates, the (estimated) delivery date and the name of the respective courier service.
The above-mentioned details will only be used to show you your orders correctly, update them regularly and to support any other new features the app offers you.
- Your account
In your account handl.io stores the following information that you manually pass on to us in the app: your name, e-mail address, physical address(es), your purchase stats (such as total number of deliveries, average score you award to couriers, your favorite couriers, etc…)
- Delivery experience score
The ratings you award to any specific delivery or courier are personal and non-visible to anyone but yourself. We will only use these feedback data with our commercial partners in an aggregated and fully anonymised way.
Transfer to third parties
Handl.io does not give your personal data to third parties unless:
- a) The transfer is made to a third party engaged by Handl.io for the purposes listed in this Privacy Statement. With these third parties Handl.io will have an agreement that specifies how this Partner handles your personal data in a responsible manner;
- b) Handl.io is required by law to pass on personal data to the authorities.
Security of data
Handl.io makes use of appropriate technical and organizational security procedures. These are intended to ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to your data and to prevent the loss, unauthorized use or modification of the data Handl.io receives.
More specifically this means that your data are stored in an encrypted way and that we have a policy in place that strictly limits access to your data.
This means Handl does not allow humans to read your data unless:
- We first obtained your affirmative agreement for specific messages
- It is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating a bug or abuse)
- It is necessary to comply with applicable law.
- Use of your data is limited to internal operations and the data (including derivations) have been aggregated and anonymized.
Availability and modification of your data
You can request access to your personal data that we process at any time.
You can also request that your data be changed or deleted. For this you can send an e-mail to email@example.com
Logging out from the app, will de-authorize it to access your Google mailbox until you re-connect again (login). For convenience reasons, we will store your personal data for a limited time (4 weeks) after logout, after which your data will be removed from our database.
If you choose to logout, you will no longer be able to use all the features of the app, as your personal data is essential for the operation of the mobile application, until you decide to log in again.
Handl.io might use first party session cookies during a running session. These cookies are purely functional. To refuse all cookies or to be notified every time your computer receives a cookie, the settings of your browser can be changed. Some functions on www.handl.io may no longer work if your computer can not receive cookies.
Handl.io has no control over the potential use by third parties of your personal data. This Privacy Statement only applies to the personal data that Handl.io processes for the benefit of www.handl.io and the mobile application. Handl.io accepts no responsibility or liability for (the operation and / or content of) websites or services of third parties.
Handl.io stores personal data for a period of no longer than 12 months after your last visit to www.handl.io, unless Handl.io is obliged by law to keep personal data longer.
Change Privacy Statement
Handl.io reserves the right to amend this Privacy Statement. Each adjustment will be announced via www.handl.io and/or the app. Please consult this page regularly for any changes This current Privacy Statement has been updated on 28 February 2019.
